The Zimbabwean has endured a difficult time at Amakhosi over the last two seasons from the club's supporters who have been constantly criticising him.

Despite that, Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter kept faith in him and continued to play him. This season especially, is one where the Zimbabwean has come under fire from the Amakhosi camp with a section of the club's support base booing him, demanding Baxter to take him off the field, but again the Englishman refused to budge and continued with the hard, and at times resilient forward.

Despite his lack of goal-scoring, he has been key to Amakhosi going the distance this season, with tireless work off the ball and bringing others like Reneilwe Letsholonyane into play, thus becoming Baxter's preferred man in attack. Whether the constant nagging of the club's support base had anything to do with him jumping ship is still unclear, but for one, Gordon Igesund and United, it's a massive coup as they seek to return to their glory years of three successive league titles.

"We are proud to announce the signature of Zimbabwean striker Kingston Nkhatha on a pre-contract. He will join SuperSport United from 1 July 2015," a statement from SuperSport United read.

It will be interesting to see if Nkhatha is allowed to continue playing for the Amakhosi or will he be frozen out like Jomo Cosmos did with Anthony Laffor when he signed a pre-contract with the self-same SuperSport in January 2008.
