Dynamos striker Cuthbert Malajila is reported to be undergoing a week-long trial period at South African Premiership side Maritzburg United.

The South African side has renewed its interest in the seasoned forward and asked him to join them for trials immediately.

The former Highlanders striker, Malajila, who was in the Warriors squad that drew with Botswana in an international friendly on Saturday, left for South Africa yesterday from Gaborone.

Maritzburg United first invited Malajila for an assessment in July 2010, but did not offer him a deal.

Malajila then returned home to Dynamos before he was swooped on by Tunisian side Club Africain.

The Tunisians later loaned Malajila to Libyan club Al Akhdar, but the Zimbabwean striker fled the strife-torn North African country to rejoin Dynamos last year.

Now the South Africans have made a fresh bid to assess Malajila.

Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa yesterday said he wished the player well in his bid to land a lucrative move.

Malajila could be heading to Maritzburg as a possible cover for Nigerian winger Felix Obada who is said to have attracted the attention of Belgian and Scandinavian clubs.

Malajila's camp confirmed that the player was heading for Maritzburg United.

Malajila was inspirational for Dynamos last season as they staged a dramatic comeback to win the Premiership title.

The Harare giants overturned a 12-point deficit to pip FC Platinum with Malajila assuming the captaincy in the last few games of the season.

Under his leadership, Dynamos did not lose a match.
