RE: BIG BROTHER AFRICA AUDITIONS  ZIMBABWE- 2012: MTHWAKAZI'S OPEN DEMAND!

The above matter refers.

We are a facebook community group representing the interests of the people of Matabeleland (Mthwakazi).

As you may be aware this is the seventh season of the continent's attention-grabbing Big Brother Africa series reality show, a great milestone indeed. However, we are gravely concerned by the fact that all Big Brother Africa show auditions in Zimbabwe have never produced any participant from Matabeleland (Mthwakazi).

For the record all the past six participants were either from Mashonaland or members of the Shona speaking tribes. Not even a single representative has been from Matabeleland or a member of the various Matabeleland ethnic groups. Is this a co-incidence or it's just part of the well-known culture of marginalization and discrimination against the people of Matabeleland that has bedeviled this country since 1980?

For the sake of brevity, the long and short of it ,is that we believe the people of Mashonaland and Shonas have had more than their share of the Big Brother Africa show and as such this year's edition should be a sole and exclusive preserve of participants from Matabeleland (Mthwakazi).

In that vein we kindly demand that you publicise the venues and dates of auditions in Matabeleland (Mthwakazi) forthwith. Please note that this is a demand and not a request, as we are of the view that the people of Matabeleland are as of right entitled to send a representative to this year's edition of the Big Brother Africa series.

Please also take note that we have chosen that our first 'formal' contact with you be in the form of a public communication or open letter because this issue is now of public notoriety and members of the public have an interest in hearing your response hereto.

We trust the above is in order and hope to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully

Sabelo S.M. Ngwenya.
