The President Emmerson Mnangagwa says his government will soon name and shame unscrupulous business people creating artificial shortages on the market and bring them to book.

Government has identified people behind the manipulation of the economy who are fuelling market disturbances and artificial shortages of goods not the market.

Addressing thousands of people who attended the 17th Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) graduation ceremony, President Mnangagwa said government will bring to book those behind the artificial shortages on the market.

President Mnangagwa said government is aware and gravelly concerned by the current manipulation of the economic environment by a group of people and business who are bent on causing disturbances in the market through the creation of artificial shortages and a black market economy.

"We are now certain and clear of the personalities behind these wicked and criminal activities and the net is closing in on them. We will soon name, shame and bring to book these glutinous individuals," he said.

Mnangagwa expressed concern on the peddling of false news through social media causing alarm and despondency.

Shortly before presiding over the graduation ceremony, the President was installed as the new Chancellor of BUSE.
