Vice President Joice Mujuru has left Harare for South Africa to attend the African National Congress centenary celebrations.

Vice President Mujuru joins other leaders, Heads of State and governments or their representatives from the region and beyond in the various festivities and celebrations to mark the ruling African National Congress' 100 years of existence.

Mujuru is accompanied by Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Didymus Mutasa and Secretary for Security, Sydney Sekeramayi and other senior government officials.

Meanwhile, Movement for Democratic Change led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai said its national chairperson Lovemore Moyo will represent the party at the ANC centenary.

"The MDC is appreciative of the neutral role being played by South Africa under the direction of the ANC in its mediation efforts in the Zimbabwean situation," the party said in a statement.
