Mzansi crying out for Bev

SEXY Angels boss Bev says she has finally cracked the South African market after she recently secured contracts to perform on a weekly basis across the Limpopo.

Since bursting onto the scene, the dancer-cum-musician, whose stage name is Beverly Sibanda, has been going to perform at once-off shows in Mzansi.

Last year, she relocated to the South Africa but the move did not pay off as she returned to Zimbabwe after almost half a year.

This time around though, her manager Harpers Mapimhidze told the Daily News they have secured regular slots which mean almost every week the Sexy Angels will be billed to perform in Mzansi.

"A number of joints in South Africa are after her signature. For example, she is now performing at Club Africa every Thursday and this is something we were all waiting for as a group," Mapimhidze said.

"It now means that the Sexy Angels group is on demand in two countries — South Africa and Zimbabwe — as a result, Bev has to routinely fly in and out of the country."
Bev is pleased with the inroads she is making across the Limpopo where there is a huge contingent of Zimbabweans, who fled the economic crisis back home.

"Though I am not yet there but I am glad that I am making a name in some parts of South Africa as a dancer. I fill up joints there a development that made me a darling of many promoters," she said.

Bev said the South African market is rewarding as compared to the local scene.

"In South Africa, I usually stage seven shows per week. Unlike in Zimbabwe where we perform for at least four hours on stage, in South Africa the performances range from 20 minutes to an hour long.

"Dancing in South Africa is more rewarding as compared to Harare where the majority of dance groups are paid peanuts.
