Popular pole dancer Zoey Sifelani had a brush with plain clothes cops in the wee hours of Wednesday after she was picked up for loitering outside City Sports Bar.

The 26-year-old adult entertainer met her fate as she was heading towards parking bay shortly after her performance at the popular watering hole.

Zoey's predicament worsened as the police details warned her that she was committing another offence by resisting arrest, at least according to the dancer. The drama attracted the attention of Zoey's friends who accompanied her to Harare Central police station where she was briefly detained and released after paying an admission of guilt fine.

Narrating her ordeal hours after her release, Zoey who is no stranger in police cells said: "I think you saw exactly what happened since I was heading to my car to go home after my performance. I had a wonderful time as we were celebrating Harpers (Mapimhidze's) merit award ceremony at City Sports Bar.

"I was shocked when three men in plain clothes apprehended me as I was approaching my car and advised me that I was under arrest. At first I resisted because I thought they were not genuine police officers. One of them then flashed his particulars and that's when I realised that I was under arrest."

Zoey said she was at a loss for words when she was hand-cuffed in the presence of her fans who then followed her to the charge office.

"As I speak right now, my hands are swollen because the cops were being hard on me. Even though I complied with them, they continued tossing me around. At the charge office, one of the cops advised me to pay some money or risk going to court. I then paid US$140 for myself and my manager before we were set free."

Despite Wednesday's brush with the law, Zoey said she had no beef with the cops.

"Dancing is my life and this incident won't deter me at all. The cops will be doing their job and who am I to stop them," she said.
