"The Air Force of Zimbabwe is looking for suitable persons who would be interested in joining the Air Force of Zimbabwe in the following trades: pilot  trainee, air traffic controllers, regimental officer cadet, trainee aircraft technician and  regiment infantry" reads the statement released on Thursday morning.

Entry qualifications include 5 "O" Levels, 2 "A" levels with Mathematics and English a must.

In Matabeleland North recruit meant is at Tsholotsho and Lupane between 15-20 March, Matabeleland South (Gwanda and Plumtree, 8-13 March), Massvingo (Ngundu and Nyika Growth Point, 23- 28 February), Manicaland (Watsomba and Checheche growth point, 20-24 February), Mashonaland East (Mutawatawa and Sadza growth point, 13- 17 February).

In Midlands prospective trainees should assemble at Mataga and Kwekwe growth points 5-23 March), Mashonaland West (Mubaira and Zvimba South, 29-30 March and Mashonaland Central the assemble points are Guruve and Rushinga between 5 and 10 April).

In September last year, Lieutenant t General  Phillip Valerio Sibanda, the commander of the Zimbabwe National Army  said  the army  was struggling to find recruits in the Matabeleland South province because the youths there are too famished due to malnutrition.

"This year, we had a reduced number of army recruits from Matabeleland South because most of the candidates who applied for military training did not meet the required body mass index in line with ZNA requirements," Sibanda said then while donating maize seed to chiefs in Gwanda.
