There are many different types of engineering degrees, ranging from electrical to biomedical. All the different types of engineering have one thing in common; they are all involved in working to make the world a better place. When studying, there are many advantages to traveling abroad, and if you are studying engineering of any kind, there are a few places you should not miss.
From North America to Europe, here are some places that you should visit when studying engineering.

Canada
The famous inventor, Alexander Graham Bell, is immortalized at the Alexander Graham Bell Historic Site in Baddeck, Canada.  Not only is this site the home of the Bell's summer house there is also a museum there which contains many of Bell's inventions. Other highlights in Canada include the CN Tower in Toronto, the Skyway Network in Calgary, and the Confederation Bridge that connects Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

United States
In the United States, there are several sites to visit if you are studying engineering. In California, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is a site that is well worth a visit, while the World Trade Center in New York is another modern feat of engineering. New York also boasts the Museum of Mathematics and the Tesla Science Center. Mathematics is an important part of all engineering and Tesla is a very important figure in the history of scientific discovery. Nearby, in New Jersey, is the Radio Technology Museum.

In addition to the branches of engineering like electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software engineering, there are degrees in biomedical engineering, civil engineering, and agricultural engineering. Engineering degrees like those in biomedical engineering are available in traditional schooling or as an online master of engineering in biomedical engineering. Some programs, like Rutgers Online, offer an online MEBME degree, and these programs are not only smaller than typical classes but they are more flexible. This not only would let you fit your studies into your schedule, it also makes it easier to travel when working to gain your master of engineering in biomedical engineering degree.

Europe
In Europe, there are even more places to visit if you are pursuing a degree in engineering. Ireland boasts several engineering marvels, from the technological sites in Ballycastle to the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. London is not too far away and includes the Royal Observatory and the Institution of Engineering and Technology. The United Kingdom is not the only place with wondrous engineering marvels, however. Switzerland houses the Large Hadron Collider and the Colosseum in Italy is also well worth a look. The sites in Europe are a mix of architecture and science, a fitting set of destinations for a student of engineering.

Travel is a critical part of completing an education and can be especially important when working toward a master's degree in engineering. Learning about different opinions and ideas helps you further develop your own ideas, and will help you feel like a part of the global community, no matter which branch of engineering you are studying.
