In another show of consistency, three Kalanga artists, Tish Malaba, Clement Magwaza and Martin Sibanda, have been nominated for yet another set of the prestigious music awards.

The inaugural Skyz Metrofm Awards, going by the slogan 'siphethe amagabazi', are set to illuminate the city of Bulawayo on the 21st December 2017. All the three were also notable nominees at the glamorous Bulawayo Arts Awards held earlier this year.

Tish Malaba Ncube with Sinazo group, Clement Magwaza Ncube and Martin Sibanda with his Ndolwane Super Sounds were nominated in various musical categories. Tish with his hit song Kalanga Child featuring Dj Dash, a humble dedication to his daughter, is competing in three categories, namely Song of the Year, Best Song by a Duo/Group and Best Music Sound Production.

Magwaza is pitted against Sinazo and various other artists in the Song of the Year category with the hit Tjandapiwa, best Male Artist and Best Dance Song category with the song entitled Istambo Sami which also position him head on with the likes of Madlela Skhobokhobo in the Best Rhumba/Tshibilika section.

The socio-political commentary track Konke Sizokulungisa landed Martin Sibanda and Ndolwane Super Sounds the best Rhumba/Tshibilika nominee.

"It has been a musical rollercoaster fairytale", explains Tish. "We would like to take this opportunity and thank our fans with gratitude. Without them we wouldn't be where we at now. Also we thank Skyz Metro Fm for adding flesh to the Bulawayo Arts industry. To my fellow Bulawayo artists I say aluta continua" says Tish.
