SUNGURA maestro Alick Macheso on Friday told his fans in Mutare that his new album Kure kweKure would be on the market this week.

Macheso told his fans at Pick and Save in the Manicaland capital that his new offering was ready and his fans must expect it this week.

"We have finished all the logistics and we are going to play all the new songs tonight," he said.

Explaining his statement at the sidelines of the show, Macheso said he had finished recording and the album would be ready by the end of this week.

"I know that our fans are waiting for it. They are not going to wait anymore because this week they will get it," said Macheso.

Macheso, who is known for writing songs on his past experiences, said he had decided to name the album Kure kweKure because he had come a long way with his talent.

"I came a long way with my talent and I just felt that I should name it Kure kweKure, telling fans of the ‘distance' I have covered to be where I am today," he said.

However the musician was dispelled speculation that a song titled Chipo Chiri Munyama was meant to attack dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu who once snatched Macheso's key band members.

In the song Macheso sings about his talent telling people that there is no way they can destroy him unless they kill him and he ends up the songs warning people that he is a genius.

"I just wrote it not that I was attacking anyone. It was just a song that came into my mind without thinking of anyone," he said.

In most of his songs, the musician seeks to defend his talent. Macheso also unveiled his new dance kochekera, which he said was just a way of showing his fans that there was unity and oneness in his band.
